Approach
In her seven years of work, she has acquired varied therapeutic skills to assess and treat a wide range of mental health difficulties. Florie strongly believes in collaborating with her clients during the whole course of therapy, especially during goal setting, treatment planning and progress review.
Patients’ improvements and successes are Florie’s greatest source of satisfaction and reward in Florie’s work; her client-centered approach encourages her clients to use their own skills and strengths, for psychological growth and enhanced wellbeing.
Experience
Florie has been practising psychology for over seven years. She trained and graduated as a Clinical Psychologist in France, with a focus on Psychodynamic and Person-Centered therapies. She then moved to New Zealand where she worked in a Forensic role for four years. She learned new models of therapy such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and she refined her Cognitive Behavioural Therapy skills.
Florie came to England four years ago and she obtained work with an NHS trust in Offender Care where she has been working for three and a half years. She has revisited her clinical skills and she has recently attended training in Mentalisation-Based Therapy and the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Florie’s overseas experience has helped her gain a deep awareness of the importance of clients’ cultural needs and identity.
