About me

Andy is an EMDR therapist who values the importance of unconditional acceptance, trust, and safety. Andy has a particular interest in helping people heal from childhood trauma; whether the individual is a child or young person healing, or an adult reflecting on past experiences. Built on a foundation of person-centred counselling, Andy works as a BACP accredited integrative psychotherapist; incorporating EMDR (eye Movement desensitisation and reprocessing), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), compassion based and creative therapies to help a client achieve their therapeutic outcomes. Andy recognises and respects that each of us are individuals. As such, as an integrative therapist, Andy is able to tailor therapy to meet the needs of the individual. Primarily working from a trauma informed perspective, Andy believes that individuals not only need practical strategies to manage in the here-and-now, but also the opportunity to safely revisit and heal from past experiences. Andy has over 10 years’ experience working therapeutically with children, young people and adults. Andy has worked within the NHS, CAMHS, Children’s Services, university staff and student support services and a highly subscribed, award winning school-based therapy service. Andy has been in private practice since January 2021. His qualifications include a PGDip in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (BACP Accredited) and Qualified EMDR Therapist (Parts 1-3, Parts 1-2 Child Modifications).
