Book a sessionI enjoy helping people to make sense of their earlier experiences and to gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationships with others, creating an opportunity to develop more appropriate ways to express and communicate their thoughts and feelings. I often rely on an Integrative approach as I strongly believe that there is not just one psychological model that can help people in all situations. Instead, taking into consideration the people I work with as individuals and their circumstances, I use elements of different approaches to help them to be aware of their difficulties and to find different coping strategies. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship is crucial for the therapeutic process: hence why it is important that people feel both understood and “held in mind” by a therapist who is alongside them as they begin to explore and make sense of the experiences that have brought them to therapy. This is why I recognise the importance of adopting an empathetic and compassionate approach to my work. I currently offer virtual appointments only, this is subject to on-going review. I work with adults aged 18+. I am bi-lingual and happy to facilitate sessions in both English and Italian. I can offer both short and longer term therapeutic support to individuals. I am a Clinical Psychologist with 8 years of experience post qualification. Within the NHS I worked in different adults’ group settings such as in-patient acute wards and community services. I also worked in community facilities such as Crisis Teams, Assertive Outreach Teams and Community Rehabilitation Teams. I have experience with a wide range of difficulties such as psychotic disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, sleep disturbances, personal development issues, relationship and relational problems. I have a particular interest and extensive knowledge regarding supporting those who have experienced developmental and complex trauma. I also collaborate with the Middlesex University as lecturer in regards to marking and assessing exams and academic works and teaching. I have experience with a number of evidence-based, specialist models of therapy: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness approaches, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Integrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy.
