About me

Sarah is a warm and engaging clinical psychologist who works to meet clients’ needs both creatively and collaboratively. She believes that effective therapy comes from building a strong therapeutic relationship, being client-focused, and supporting clients to learn skills to become their own therapist and leave therapy feeling equipped to continue to practice maintaining progress made. She is able to offer short-term or long-term therapy. Sarah has experience of delivering high-quality evidence-based therapy for people across a range of age groups in both clinical and research settings. She works with emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties including trauma, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation problems, bereavement, stress management, and sleep difficulties. She predominantly works using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy but also practises using Compassion Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. In the NHS, Sarah works in a national specialist service treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety Disorders (e.g., Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder) and Depression. She has a particular interest in working with young adults who have experienced single-incident traumatic events (e.g., accident, assault). Sarah also trains other professionals and students in the treatment of these difficulties and supervises those training to become clinical psychologists themselves. Sarah is passionate about increasing access to psychological therapies by delivering them online and has previously worked in developing online treatments. Sarah has also published numerous peer reviewed journal articles on the treatment of trauma, anxiety and depression.
