I draw from evidence based approaches and tailor therapy to the needs of the individual. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) in my work.
I have been working in the NHS since 2006 and prior to this worked for the NSW Department of Health in Australia for several years. My training and experiences have enabled me to work with individuals across the lifespan presenting with a wide range of difficulties and needs. In particular I have spent time working within various addiction services, forensic services, the child and family courts, individuals in hospital with physical and mental health needs - notably within the spinal unit and oncology, child and adolescent mental health services, and with older adults presenting with dementia.
These rich experiences have enabled me to grow as a clinician and appreciate a range of human experience whilst utilising people’s own motivation and strengths to achieve change. I work closely with individuals to build a therapeutic relationship to achieve outcomes identified by them.
