Jess is a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with individuals, families and groups with diverse emotional, psychological and physical difficulties in a variety of clinical and research contexts.

She uses a theory-informed, individualised approach with her clients to help them be their best Self so that they can have more satisfying and engaged lives, fully lived to their own values.

Experience

Jess is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council and has Chartered status with the British Psychological Society. She has undergone additional training to work therapeutically online and is a professional member of the Association for Therapy and Counselling Online.

Jess completed a research PhD and worked as a researcher at Bangor University before commencing her Clinical Doctorate also at Bangor in 2004. She completed this in 2007 and set up her own private practice. From 2010, Jess worked for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, initially as a practitioner psychologist and then latterly as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Jess has experience of working with a wide range of difficulties including stress and anxiety, chronic pain, trauma, obsessions and compulsions, panic, phobia, feelings of inadequacy and fear of failure, intrusive thoughts and images, distressing emotions, poor sleep, depression and emotional eating. She works largely from a cognitive-behavioural perspective and is trained in several evidence-based psychotherapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
