Dr Elizabeth Lawson
BSc, DPhilBook a session
Although it can often be helpful to reflect on the past in order to make sense of why we might be struggling in the present, I tend to find that a focus on the here and now can help clients develop new skills to make meaningful changes. I am led by clients and their goals for therapy, with the sessions being collaborative and client-focused.
What I can help with
- Personality difficulties
- Eating disorders
Prior to moving into private practice, I worked at The Retreat in York across both the inpatient and outpatient settings. I was the psychologist on the inpatient eating disorder unit working with clients with eating disorders along with diagnoses of personality disorders and autism spectrum disorders. In the outpatient setting, I worked within the CBT service, personality disorder service and eating disorder service. Having previously been the service lead for the CBT service, most recently I was the eating disorder service lead.
