Approach
Anna recognises the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the need for someone to feel safe and contained in order to share their concerns and difficulties. For Anna it is a privilege to support people to gain insight into their difficulties, manage their internal struggles and reduce distress, learn new skills, build resilience and work towards living a life in line with their values.
Experience
Anna has worked in a number of NHS services and settings over the years, working directly with clients with longstanding difficulties, in addition to offering consultation, supervision and training. She has experience of working with a wide range of presenting difficulties, including anxiety, burnout and work-related stress, depression, low self-esteem, emotion regulation difficulties, trauma and PTSD and relationship difficulties. She has experienced the value of using a range of different therapeutic approaches (which are evidence-based), tending to integrate these as and when needed (so that these are tailored to an individual’s needs). She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
