Alessandra believes that effective therapy utilizes clients’ existing strengths and resilience, whilst using new therapeutic tools to enable them to move forward in life and maintain long-term progress.She is extremely passionate about helping clients become the best version of themselves and uses evidence based psychological and coaching tools to adapt her approach to the client’s needs and preferences.
Alessandra has worked in a wide range of clinical and workplace settings, both in the NHS and in the private sector. Her experience ranges from mild to moderate work within GP surgeries to addiction services, acute psychiatric wards, crisis resolution teams, community mental health teams and psychotherapy departments. Alessandra has worked with several presentations. These range from mild to moderate and severe depression/anxiety, Post-natal Depression, Social Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobias, drug and alcohol addictions and psychosis.
Alessandra specialises in helping workers who experience burnout stay in work or go back to work after a mental ill health absence Alessandra has been working in the corporate sector for the past 8 years, mainly helping lawyers, bankers, management consultants and other clients in the corporate sector manage their work-life balance effectively and prevent/treat burnout. Alessandra recently completed a MSc in Occupational and Business Psychology, during which she created and tested her own evidence-based Wellbeing Toolkit for employees. This tailorable intervention has been found to be effective in reducing perceived stress and increasing wellbeing.
Alessandra has 18 years’ experience of working with individuals with a wide range of presentations and within a wide variety of clinical and workplace settings. She currently works in her own private practice in London providing coaching, psychological therapy and Wellbeing interventions for a variety of workplace settings. She has won an award in 2013 for supporting staff as part of the Critical Incident Support Team, which intervened to support individuals and teams when serious incidents occurred within the NHS. She particularly enjoys working with clients who experience burnout to manage their return to work or to help them stay in work. She has run team development days in the NHS and enjoys training a range of workplaces in gaining psychological skills in order to enhance wellbeing and prevent burnout.
She has experience of delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapy for people across a range of age groups and emotional and psychological difficulties. Some of the difficulties that she has treated include; Depression, Anxiety; sleep problems, stress management and burnout; Emotional Regulation Problems, Post-natal Depression, Social Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobias, drug and alcohol addictions and psychosis. She specialises in providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which she applies to a range of disorders. Furthermore, she has extensive experience in mindfulness-based approaches, Compassionate Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy (NET) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
