About me

With over 37 years experience of working in a variety of educational and mental health settings, I work sensitively and effectively, tailored to your individual needs.

My approach is collaborative, boundaried, consistent, reliable and flexible.

I work effectively with more usual (e.g.

anxiety and depression) and severe mental health difficulties (such as, eating disorders and psychosis) working collaboratively with you every step of the way, to flourish.

My therapeutic style is flexible and integrative.

I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic counselling.

This enables me to adapt to your unique needs, whether short-term or long-term therapy is required. Initially, we can develop a therapy and safety plan, where relevant, incorporating any goals.

You and I can regularly review how you feel therapy is progressing, moving at your pace, illuminating options and facilitating choice at every step.

I work gently yet encouraging you to feel you can start sharing openly with me, as we can think about your situation together.

I will do my utmost to help you forward.

I am further passionate about enabling marginalised groups such as LGBTIA+, highlighting the equal opportunity to rise for all, from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We can discuss endings and work towards a safe and positive end of therapy, with autonomy at the heart of my practice.

It would be a pleasure to hold an initial free chat with you, discussing your expectations of therapy and to schedule an initial session together.

I'd like to learn what brings you to therapy at this time.

Seeking therapy can be daunting especially for the first time.

I look forward to the possibility of hearing from you.
